STRESSING OUT!!!!!
I am beyond stressing out! in the Jewish religion you are not suppose to have any baby things in the house until the baby is born. So everything from my shower and things we bought are at my parents house. The room has been painted, and we are using my old baby furniture which is empty waiting for our son's clothes and belongings
I have a bad case of OCD where I like to get things done asap etc. I have an empty clean baby room waiting for my babies things.
DH is freaking on how he is suppose to come home w our baby and set up crib, pack and play and get the room together. I know things take time and we will get it done but i am STRESSING OUT!!!!

STRESSING OUT!!!!!
I'm also Jewish. We didn't even have a shower. We painted and carpeted the nursery. Ordered furniture. I'm completely type A and a major planner and like things very organized.
When dd was born we called the furniture place to set up delivery. It was delivered the day after we came home. Dd wasn't even in the crib until 7 weeks. They sleep alottttttttttt. I would wash her newborn and 3 month clothes and put them away in her dresser.
It really all comes together. Try not to stress.

STRESSING OUT!!!!!
tradition is one thing, practicality another. We will adhere as much as possible to this, but honestly that is a lot of pressure on one person to have to do as well as the added stress that comes with nothing being done and no idea how everything will come together. For me the most stressful is not even the big things usually its the setting up proper places for the smaller stuff. All requires figuring out logistics. Therefor - we will set up everything closer to EDD, but not wait for the arrival of the baby. Just way too stressful. I am Israeli and ppl don't even adhere to this tradition that strongly over there. So save urself the stress. And start ur nursery ahead of time.

Re: STRESSING OUT!!!!!
Are you able to work on things while they're at your parents' house? In the beginning you really don't need a lot but if you can go through stuff while it's still there that will help. A few things you can work on before baby arrives (assuming you're allowed, I'm not 100% familiar with the rule): 1. Take pack n play, bouncer, swing, rock n play etc out of the original box. Fill out the courtesy cards with your info and send them in so you'll be notified of any recalls. Set them up so you understand how they're assembled, broken down, etc. Throw out all the extra packaging. Fold up, disassemble, etc and put back in the box if possible so it will be easy to transport. 2. Wipe the inside and outside of the furniture clean. Wash some baby clothes (maybe not all of them in case you need to return/exchange) and put them in the drawers. When it's time to move the furniture just take the drawers out and transport baby's clothes in the drawers so you will just have to pop the drawers back in once you're home. 3. Put together a little basket of baby soap, q tips, clean wash cloths, other toiletries so that anything you'll need immediately will be in the basket and can be brought right to your house and be ready for you. These are just some ideas but hope this helps a little. In the very beginning it really doesn't have to be overwhelming. There's a lot you can't use for a few months and the stuff you need immediately is minimal. The biggest pain is unpacking everything and figuring out how it works so if you get that done ahead of time that will help a lot. Good luck and try to relax.

STRESSING OUT!!!!!
Honesty it all gets done. I had my baby 3 weeks early and yes I had everything in the house but nothing was done. DS wasn't even in his room for months and we just washed clothes while I was still in the hospital and did everything else when I got home. Doing things when they are a newborn is easy. They sleep so much you have time.

Re: STRESSING OUT!!!!!
I am Jewish too and I decided to throw that tradition out the door. Never thought I would but between the excitement and craziness of having twins I couldn't wait till they were born. We are painting on Monday and hopefully having furniture delivered next weekend. We bought a few things at Macy's and BRU. Couldn't help ourselves. Plus we have a bunch of hand me downs in our spare room. My mom wasn't happy but it saved my sanity
