How many suitcases do you usually take when your family travels?

DH and I were always light packers. Before we had kids, we would normally just take one carry on each when we went on vacation. We never checked luggage.

Now we TRY to travel with two large suitcases and one carry on. We always bring the double stroller and if we are traveling domestically, we also check in the car seats.

Depends on how long we are going for.

A long weekend - 2 carry ons. DH & I spilt up DS's stuff amongst both of our bags.

Anything longer and 1 big suitcase for all 3 of us, plus a carry on.

I try not to pack too much when we go away. During the warmer months - I know that DS will most likely be in his bathing suit most of days, so I pack less outfits. DH & I try to do the same thing.

4 of went to Dinsey for 5 days. We had 2 suitcases, not terribly big ones, a diaper bag, 1 backpack (carry on) and 2 strollers. It actually wasn't to bad. It sounds like a lot but wasn't. If it were up to my dh, we would bring basically nothing hahaha but we had diapers, wipes, a few bulky stuff that take up room, and we never go near the 50 lb weight limit for airlines

Too many!! Usually 3 for the 3 of us. And one of them is huge. I am not a light packer at all.

We usually have two larger suitcases and Dhs golf bag.

i learned to cut back on bringing. when we do like a 4 day trip we have 1 med/lge suitcase, dd has her back pack rolling suitcase and we usually have a carry bag.

2 suitcases.
DS is potty trained, so the diapers are at a minimum.

DH gets 1 suitcase, has to pack his stuff & all the diapers/wipes.

I get 1 and have to pack all the kids clothes.

We pack 1 formal outfit each, 1-2 shorts, 1 dress (me), 2 bathing suits & mostly shirts.

Kids clothes we wash during the trip (by hand & they are dry by the next day)... so 3 shirts & 2-3 shorts each.

I'd check to see if you can get flotation things at the resort. Some hotels like atlantis provide them.

It depends on the length of time and the airline we fly. When we go to Orlando for a week, we usually fly JetBlue and do 2 suitcases and DH's golf clubs.

Yeah - I overpack

We each bring our own luggage. The kids each have a potterybarn suitcase that is about the size of a carryon. My DH has one regular piece of luggage and I have a really large suitcase. Plus one rolling carryon.

I have no interest in packing light. I need to have my shoes and bags and make-up with me and I also don't want to do laundry on vacation.
