HUGE toy rave - excellent inexpensive xmas gift
My DC had a TRU gift certificate from bday so we went and DC picked this out. The BOTH of us had HOURS of fun doing this today. Its so inexpensive, but is really a great toy and if you are looking for something for your creative/crafty kid for the holidays, I HIGHLY recommend this.

DC is in early elementary school. It was just really fun for DC to be able to create their own markers. It is very easy to use, and really is great for youngers kids as well, but they will need mom and dads help. Really compact and well designed toy. Dc was able to do it independently. Markers work just a great as ones you by out of the box. Endless amounts of color combos, although it give you above 16 pre-measured to do.
It comes with 2 marker boxes that they can use their new marker to color and then they hold the ones they create.
It was really fun to watch DC mix the colors, assemble the marker pieces, watch the felt absorb all of the colors and their markers come to life.
Really easy to use as well. They really do make it fool proof and there is tons of storage for all of the marker parts and pieces so they aren't all over the place.
My DV loves science experiment kits and to color and this was the best of both worlds.
Not to mention, worked EXACTLY as advertised.

They have a machine that does this on a larger scale at the Crayola Factory in Easton, PA. I am not sure how cool the kit is, but my kids were sort of meh about the large display where you just press a button. Perhaps it would be better if you did the assembly yourself.

Yeah, its not the same as the thing at the Crayola factory at all. You make the marker completely with this. From mixing custom ink colors to assembling and labeling your marker.
