Re: Mrs. Goldie
Hi ladies. I'm here, sorry, I've just been laying low a little bit while I try to figure this all out. I've been doing a lot of research on thyroid issues, autoimmune problems, supplements … I'm a little annoyed because there are a few things that could've been done this time that weren't for example Steroids and lovenox.. I know a lot of doctors don't believe in auto immune issues but my thyroid antibodies are high and that is a real thing. I have read three articles in respectable medical journals that show a 20% decrease chance of IVF resulting in a pregnancy in patients positive for anti-thyroid antibodies. According to the Journal articles treatment with steroid, Lovenox, and thyroid medication would've given me a better chance of it working. Since I had to take a loan out for this, I just feel like they should have pulled out all the stops.
Thank you for thinking of me :) xoxo

I also have a positive ATA (and ANA and APA) and synthroid, lovenox and prednisone was my protocol for my 4th round of IVF that resulted in pregnancy. As an fyi - I had to push the doctors for this treatment but at the end of the day they had the bloodwork in front of them and couldn't deny the possibility of it working - since there were minimal risks in taking these meds, they put me on them. I am a patient of Dr. B's and I have been on prednisone and lovenox for all of my cycles. My first IVF was successful, one failed FET and tomorrow we will find out about IVF 2!

Re: Mrs. Goldie
I just wanted to let you know that you're in my thoughts and prayers.
It's so crazy that you mentioned steriods and lovenox. My re just put me on that yesterday because my thyroid anti-bodies tested positive. I have to take 2 pills 3x a day.
Have you thought about seeing Dr. Kofinas?

I have been thinking about going to dr who believes in autoimmune issues. They are all far for me though, don't know how monitoring would go. I have my post IVF consult tomorrow so we shall see. I'm going to have to go back to IUI for a while. Been googling my little fingers off and there are success stories out there. I'm going to push for an IVF protocol with the IUI and see what he says. I'm going to push for the lovenox and steroids too.

If your thyroid antibodies are high I would definitely push for further testing and a different protocol. I hope your RE has some answers for you when you meet with him. I am doing the same after my 2nd IVF- lots of researching. Theres so many different ideas out there and people who believe in different things. At this point I just want something/anything to work. Let us know how your follow up goes.
