Moms of skinny toddlers
My ds just had his 2 yo checkup and he is only 23 pounds. And he is 37 inches tall- he is a beanpole! Any tips for putting weight on my little guy? He just doesn't like to eat. I have older kids but we never had this problem - in fact, my 6yo is huge for his age. Any suggestions from moms who have gone thru this are appreciated.

Re: Moms of skinny toddlers
DS has always been small and skinny. Also, my friend's DS is really small and below the charts. Just do what you have to do. They'll be fine. I give DS pediasure and whole milk a lot. Also, lots of peanut butter for the fat and protein. DS won't eat big meals so we do lots of small meals throughout the day.

My DS is just under 23 lbs at his 21 month visit. He has always been skinny. He eats like a fat kid though. LOL!!! he can eat 15 sliver dollar pancakes and fruit for breakfast no problem.
I would speak to your Ped about it. I would think supplemental shakes like pediasure.

Re: Moms of skinny toddlers
My DD will be 4 in febuary and only weighs 27lbs..she is tiny and the Dr. never said anything. I wouldnt try to make him gain weight unless the dr. thinks so. I would just leave him be and see what happens in a year or two. He will probably have a growth spurt. Every kid develops different I wouldnt worry.

I give my ds carnation instant breakfast.. This way I dont worry SO much about him not having the proper nutrients.
