To be honest, after the reading the books....twice ....I'm just not sure how they will be able to put everything in.
I think reading the books now will leave you feeling like you are missing something.
Like most book to movie processes go.

Re: 50 Shades movie...
I would read the books first.............books are ALWAYS better than the movie.

Re: 50 Shades movie...
Since the movie is probably not going to be great, I'd read the books if you plan to see the movies. You need a lot of her inner monologue to be able to appreciate the story at all, and I don't think they'll be able to capture that in the movie. The books are written in 1st person from her POV.
(the books are also not that great, more like entertaining---Twilight was better written if that says anything!)

I agree, the quality isn't great and after the second book especially it can get a little tedious. A year after reading them, I dont remember everything so I think my expectations of the movie will be lower since I probably won't remember that many plot points.

I thought the book was terrible! I wouldn't waste my time/money. I didn't even read the second two.
