what types of activities go on during play and learn level 1 class for 0-6 month olds? Is it worth it? My daughter is almost 5 months old and isn't rolling over yet (hates tummy time) so I was curious if these classes make a difference. TIA

Re: gymboree
I personally loved these classes. Unfotunately we didn't go until our little guy was about 9-10 months...but he loved it and he was still crawling/only pulling himself up and within 2 weeks he was walking....maybe watching the other kids inspired him? He enjoyed himself and it was nice interaction with other children. We also went My Gym which was awesome....same concept just bigger and a little cheaper.

5 months is too young IMO. I would wait until she can at least crawl.

I think if you're worried about rolling, the best thing you can do is put her on her belly every time you put her down. DD rolled a little but she stopped soon after and never did it again. She started PT at 14 months bc she had a lot of motor delays and we were told to only put her down on her belly. She didn't like it but I would try to keep her entertained or even put on sesame street for her. Within a day she was getting herself up to sitting. It took a little longer to get her rolling but within a month or two she was doing it fine. We would roll for her or make her toys roll and help her roll across the whole rug. I don't think the ped even asked if she was rolling until 6 months so I wouldn't really worry about it yet, just encourage her when you can.

Re: gymboree
We have always done gymboree with our kids and they and (I) have ALWAYS had such a good time. Love the open play times too with your membership especially in the winter, great to be able to go and burn off some energy.

Re: gymboree
We just started gymboree four our 4 month old. We wanted her to get used to seeing other people and playing in a place that was not our home or a relative's home. She was freaked out a bit by the first class, but took better to the second class and we are definitely going to continue (note - DH stays at home so she doesn't go to daycare where she might regularly see other kids and do new activities there).
