What do you do-diaper changing related
Dd is now 13mos. Recently her diaper changes make me feel like I am wrestling a wild bull calf. She flips and twists and screams when I catch her. I prep the diaper and wipes and cream and try to do it as quickly as possible. I try to distract her and rarely does it work. I have to hold her forcefully when I change a poop otherwise it'll get everywhere.
Do I hold her down? She is so strong! Sometimes with pee diapers I barely get to wipe her down properly and sometimes I skip the cream bc she escapes me. I am exhausted after changing her. My back hurts and I am usually out of breath lol.
Does this stage pass? Is this normal?

What do you do-diaper changing related
DS is still little, only 7.5m old but he rolls over and flips on the changing table so I started giving him a book or toy to hold and it distracts him long enough for me to get a diaper change in.

but around 18 months old i began changing my ds standing up - he cooperated better that way.

DS is 18 months and we are going through this. Sometimes he is ok but most of the time he is not. He even bit me the other day trying to get away.

Dd is turning 12 months and is the same way. It's so tough! I get DH to help me distract her and hold her down when he's home, but most of the time its just me. I keep a pile of small toys and books with her changing stuff and sometimes if I give her one it keeps her attention just long enough to change her diaper, but then she starts crawling away while I try to put her clothes on. I'm just happy if I get the diaper on before she makes a mess on the floor! Often if its just a wet diaper with no poop I don't even bother with wipes and cream anymore. I tend to alternate, so usually every other diaper change I'll use the wipes and cream, and the in between I just quickly get a new diaper on her. I feel so bad because sometimes she screams and puts up such a fight.

I had the same problem for both of my dc. The only thing that worked was changing them in front of the tv. I have to have yo gabba on dvr because that's the only thing that dd will stay still for right now. If I don't do it with that on it's a wrestling match!

I still have this problem with my 2.5 DS. It hasn't gotten easier, so im thinking when he's fully potty trained, the fight will end!

DS is 7 months and flips on the changing table constantly. Sometime I let him stay on his belly for a minute or so,then when i flip him back he tends to stay longer. I always give him a toy, we keep a couple on the changing table.
occasionally, if he won't stop, I just fasten the diaper with him on his belly, and also snap his onsies like that. Next step would be to move to the floor!

DS is 8 months and has been doing that for a while. It's often a 2-person job to change his diaper - one to hold him down and one to change him. It's especially hard after a bath b/c he crawls all over and arches his back. We try to give him toys to distract him and just change him as quickly as possible. I gave up on creams a long time ago unless I see he's getting red.

My one DD does this!! And grabs her poopy butt!! So I have to hold her legs and hand all together AND give her a toy or her brush. And she had the messiest poops that kid!

I use to let my girls hold things they weren't generally allowed to. Destin, the phone, remote, ear thermometer. It worked for a few quick seconds while I changed them.
