Potty training and going outside
How do you go about potty training while being outside for prolonged periods of time? My 2.5 DS is almost accident free at home but it's really at a minute notice and I'm afraid he won't be able to hold it until a public restroom is found... Do you carry those portable potties around everywhere?

Re: Potty training and going outside
My son was trained this past July at 2yrs 9 mos. I did not use pull-ups to train him; we did cold turkey straight to underwear. However, during naps and overnight he did use a pull-up. I always travel with the portable one in the car, but if we were in, say, the city...I'd put him in a pull-up and just explain that it was in case of an emergency. And really, he actually never did have an accident in the pull-up.

I would make sure he goes to the bathroom before you leave the house. We also kept a potty in the car. I personally wouldn't use pulls-ups.
