Sorry if this is TMI but I need to know if this is due to teething. DS had formed stools for at least a month since he's been eating much better. Over the last week, they've been loose and over the last 2 days he's been miserable. If we're out of the house he seems to be distracted but if we're home he's so unhappy and crying. Last night it was very difficult to get him back to sleep. He would fall asleep for a couple minutes and then wake up crying and he's pooping in the middle of the night which he hasn't done since he was very little. He just cut 2 teeth and it looks like at least 1 more is on it's way. Is this from teething?

It could be but it could also be a touch of a bug or something.

My DS never had that from teething but I know others experienced it.

I would just try binding food and hydrate and keep bum clean so diaper rash doesn't start or get bad.

It could be. There are mixed feelings on whether or not teething causes diarrhea.

For my DD, her loose stools always seem to coincide with teething and excess saliva.

Is he feverish at all?

I just was dealing with the same exact thing. My doctor had him get allergy tested because we thought it may have been a daily allergy. The tests came back that he is not allergic to dairy so we think it is either from teething or he had a little bug.

He doesn't have a fever. How long do the loose stools usually last? Is it normal for him to be unhappy all day with teething? He wasn't this way with the other teeth so it's throwing me for a loop Chat Icon
