stuffed animal question

This may sound crazy but I still have all my old stuffed animals up in the attic.
I know DD would love some of them, do you think if I threw them in the washing machine they would get clean enough to pass them on or are they so germ infested atfer 30 years that it's best to just toss them?
My husband thinks I am absolutely nuts so you can be honest & tell me if I amChat Icon

stuffed animal question

MIL washed DH's old pound puppy and gave it to DD. I don't know how many times she washed it or what she did to it but it looks brand new!

I think they'd be fine if you ran them through your washing machine.

stuffed animal question

Do dust mites all die in the wash? I'd be afraid a 30 yr old stuffed animal would be infested with them.

stuffed animal question

Im honestly a self aware germ phobe not to a ridiculous degree but def enough that Im cautious about certain things. Specifically old toys and blankets. I would 100% be concerned about dust mites in such an old toy. For that reason I asked my MIL not to give my dd my dhs old stuffed animals.

This is what I was wondering also. I'm going to google it & see what I can find.
