Birthday party invite question

What would you do or what have you done in this situation?

I am looking for places to have my LO's Birthday party and all of the places are more geared towards little kids--like 6 and under. We have friends/family that have children with varying ages and their older kids would not be able to participate in the party but their younger ones would.

I do not want to leave anyone out but there really is a big age difference 5-7 years. Im really not quite sure how to go about this. I have a friend whose kids are older than mine and we do not get invited to their parties and Im not offended...I just want to do the right thing---Has anyone experienced this on either end?
Im trying to find something age appropriate for my LO and pretty much all of the kids are close to the same age--there are just a few that this would affect! Help! TIA!Chat Icon

Re: Birthday party invite question

My nieces and nephews are all different ages along with some friends who have older kids. So far I have had the birthday party at the house (pool party in the summer) or at a bounce place. I feel like a bounce party is geared toward any age.

I have a best friend who's kids are older and for DS's 3rd was considering a Gymboree type place. I told her I was inviting her, but would understand that the kids are too old and not want to go. I also said don't get a gift either. We've just been friends forever so we are comfortable like that to be honest.
We wound up with a bounce place bc DS picked it and we liked that everyone can join in.
In your situation I say invite everyone bc their siblings, but they can figure it for themselves that the party place is too "babyish" for them so they won't want to go or maybe they will to see their younger sibling play.
Obviously classmates I only invite them. Different with friends I've known for a long time and know the whole family.

ETA - we have also not been invited to friend's older kid party bc it was a "big" kid party. Sleepover, a "girl" party someplace, etc. I was fine with it. Sometimes friends do a separate family celebration too and we get invited to that.

Re: Birthday party invite question

Pump it up

My husband had just as much fun as my 6 and 5 yr olds!! So I am sure every age in between would enjoy!!!
