and it freaks me out! im just so nervous when i see her face first into her mattress. and if she rolls onto her belly before she falls asleep she is basically in push up position until she cries.
if she falls asleep first then rolls over then shes face planted.
please tell me this is normal and i will eventually be ok with this

Dd has been on her stomach since she was 4 months old. I used to be awake all night because of it, but there is just no way to keep her on her back. Pediatrician said it was fine

Edit: she rolls there; I don't put her there

Re: dd now rolls over in her sleep...

My DD was the same age and dr said if she's doing it on her own its fine to leave her like that. Honestly, once she started sleeping on her belly she slept so much better. But yes especially the first few nights I'd check on her constantly.

Once my DS learned to roll over he started sleeping better so I was happy. I let him be.

Same here. At first it scared me, but she really sleeps soooo much better now on her belly. Now it's cute to see her sleeping with her little butt sticking up in the air Chat Icon

Re: dd now rolls over in her sleep...

my son sleeps on his side, I barely get him in his crib and he's turned over. then he migrates to the corner on his belly for quite a bit of the night. I was nervous the first night but ssh laughed at me and I've gotten better. he turned 4 months yesterday and is getting stronger soI get more comfortable each night.i

DS started sleeping on his belly at 5 months. I saw him face down on the baby monitor and went in to flip him over but he just rolled himself back and that was that. Once they are capable of flipping themselves there really isn't anything you can do except stare at their adorable tushes up in the air while they sleep Chat Icon

She face plants, lays on her side, smooches her face. She sleeps great so I don't worry.
