Carter's 18 months vs. 24 months

Is it me or is the difference between these two sizes enormous?!

DD is 16.5 months and the 18 month stuff is getting pretty snug. I tried on the 24 month onesies and they are down to her knees! The footed pjs are huge too meanwhile I can barely shove her feet in the 18 month ones. I guess I need to go buy some 18 month fall stuff which I think won't fit for long but I can't see the 24 month size fitting anytime soon either. Uggh

Re: Carter's 18 months vs. 24 months

I find that the onesies, especially the plain white ones, run big. My DD who is wearing 12 month clothing at 15 months, can still wear the 9 month onesies! I also find that the 1 piece items run very long. This is why I tend to go more for the 2 piece PJs and outfits for her.

Wow DS is so HUGE - he is 12 months and already in the 24 month white Carter's onesies lol. But he's in the 95th % for height... Which I am not used to, seeing as how I'm only 5'2 and always searching for Petites!!

Yeah, my DD is a peanut. At her 12 month visit, she was the 25th percentile for weight and the 50th for height. She's a string bean! She has never been a big eater. She has to get that from DH's side of the family. They are all thin and petite, and eat SO little that I feel like a glutton when I eat with them.

Re: Carter's 18 months vs. 24 months

I agree, the onesies are enormous. I bought my DS a 24 month onesie for summer and he didn't get to wear it. Too bad I cut the tags off. But the 24 month shirts fit just fine.

I also have 2 pairs of 24 month shorts and one pair fits great and the other pair just falls right off him. So frustrating!

i feel like carters runs big generally. MIL bought some carters stuff for DS in 3t and the shirt was huge. and in most stuff he's 4t now.

I'm having the same issue. DS is tall and the 18m pants are getting short on him. So now I'm getting 24m and 2T and I have to roll up the pant legs or he trips. And they're huge in the waist and falling down.

Yeah, their sizing is all over the place. DD is 16 months and wears 12 months or 18 months in the onesies. But, she's wears 24 months in the pants.

Lol! Your DD sounds like me as a baby...except for the weight part. I was short and FAT! Hahah!!

Carter's 18 months vs. 24 months

I do feel like their sizing is off from most other brands but it works for us. DD is really tall and really skinny (95th for height and 5th for weight)

In the past their stuff always fit DD so well and everything was pretty true to size for her. Now I'm thinking maybe the 18m spring stuff she hasn't worn in a while had shrunk bc I just got back from buying some 18m fall stuff and the pants are all big! Thankfully most have the adjustable elastic waste inside so I'll just roll them up. At least she won't grow out of them in a month like I was worried about.

Same here. DD was growing out of her 12 month summer clothes, so I stocked up on 18 months for fall and winter. There is a big difference! Of course I took the tags off and washed everything already. Hopefully she grows fast - although according to the tag she is well within the weight and pretty much at the height for fitting into that size.

i only buy the pj's that are 2 picese or footless. DD's feet (both of them) never fit in them but the next size up was too big overall

Re: Carter's 18 months vs. 24 months

I pretty much only buy my DD Carters clothing,so I'm used to their sizing. But I also find that Carters clothes shrink a lot. So your heavily worn 18mos clothing could have shrank, and look so small in comparison to the 24 mos.

I just bought my DD 24 mos feetie pajamas, since her legs are getting a bit too chubby for the 18 mos pajamas. Length-wise they are perfect, but I have trouble zippering them up.

Carter's 18 months vs. 24 months

DD is just over 9mo and a peanut, but I've found Carters to run fairly big. Some sizing is really strange though, she had a pair of 6mo carters jeans and grew out of them by the time she was 5mo old, but she's still wearing some 3mo sized pants and anything that's 9mo sized is absolutely huge on her. I don't get it.
