Which is better?

Maybe this is a stupid question.

Is it better to buy organic baby food like Sprout and Earth's Best, or is it better to make your own with just regular fruits and veggies that are not organic.

I like making my own, but sometimes I use what I have in my fridge which is not always organic, or sometimes I use frozen veggies. Is that bad?

Re: Which is better?

I made my own baby food but didn't always use organic produce. I felt that even with organic jarred baby food something always tasted off or processed and was watered down and mush. When I made it myself it tasted fresh and had a more realistic texture, which is what I wanted.

When I did buy pre-made baby food I always went with "organic" brands though. I don't know if I believe it makes any difference, but I did it anyway for piece of mind.

Which is better?

Whatever you want. If you feel like making it go for it.

I bought regular Gerber and DS is a crazy healthy almost 2yo.

ITA. You can try your best to shop by the dirty dozen/clean 15, but eating fresh fruits and veggies always outweighs NOT eating them, KWIM?

Some of the organic pouches have additives as well. I don't know if it is a coincidence but my kids have never had jarred baby food, I gave them a pouch in the supermarket because they were flipping out and they got sick from it :(

IMO, homemade is better than jarred organic. I tried to buy organic for the dirty dozen, but some things were hard to find. I also used some organic frozen fruit, like peaches from whole foods, but I def fed DD plenty of non-organic food.

If I fed her jarred food ( in an emergency/if we were going out for the day), then I fed her Earth's Best organics.

Thanks ladies. I guess it really doesn't matter as long as my DD is fed and healthy.

Re: Which is better?

Whichever. I made my own with nonorganic because I could spice it up and later, add some healthy fats. She later transitioned to regular table foods amazingly.

THIS!!!I do my best even now, but sometimes it is not feasible, and other times i can really make it happen with the organic..
