coloring with markers
i know this is an odd question (im actually asking bc of product development at work)...
at what age did your child star to color?
Edit to add - the product we are considering designing is a color on t-shirt for kids. they would use markers to color in an image on the shirt. so i guess the more appropriate question would be at what age would you consider buying that for your child?

A little before 2, but I wouldn't call it "coloring" as much as I would "scribbling"

DD is 16 months and we started about 2 months ago. She's surprisingly good at keeping her coloring on the paper but enjoys putting the crayons in and out of the cup even more.

Re: coloring
I started giving him crayons at around 16 months. Now at 27 months he's just starting to be able to make circles. Mostly just scribbles still though.

Re: coloring with markers
MY 2yo can't color inside shapes but scribbles and has been scribbling since he could hold a crayon (~15 months or so?).
My older son probably started really coloring at 3 but not so well. When he turned 4, he started coloring the right colors and inside lines. Now at 4.5, he can draw pictures and colors the figures he drew.

Re: coloring with markers
I answered your question based on product development. I do not think kids start coloring in images correctly until 4-5 y/o so i think that product would be geared for that age group. However, I started DS with markers before 2 y/o (the washable ones of course!)

Re: coloring with markers
Yes, around 5. Otherwise it would just be a scribbled mess and in that case, Id just get them a plain tshirt, KWIM?

With your edited question I would say around 4 or 5 - DD does not even remotely color in the lines at 2.
