What characters (or general interests) is your 4/5yo (pre-k to K) DS into?

In school, DS tends to play by himself more than with other children. I find that his interests are a little babyish compared to other boys his age. (He's 4 1/2, in Pre-K.) And that's with him being one of the oldest kids in his class (January birthday). DH and I love it, b/c he's our baby, but I want him to be able to share similar interests with other boys in his class. I would never force anything on him, but I would like to introduce him to some of the more age-appropriate characters and interests, and see if he likes any of them. Please tell me what your DS is into. TIA!

What characters is your 4/5yo (pre-k to K) DS into?

My DS who is going to be 5 in October is into Ninja Turtles and loves all the super heroes. His favorite being Batman and second Superman.

He also likes Tom & Jerry and Scooby Doo. This may be a little far fetch some 4-5 yr olds.

FYI.. Even though he likes super heroes, my son also tends to play by himself as well. I took him to the park and he rather play by himself in the sprinklers. He will talk to kids and play with them but for the most part its them initiating. I think it has to do with him being an only child. And he also has been in daycare since he was 2 yrs old, so he has been around other kids. I think he just likes to do his own thing.

With the super heroes he actually just woke up one day at 3yrs old and was obsessed with batman. I think it was more of the symbol because he hadnt seen any cartoons yet.

My son sounds like yours. He likes superhero stuff, but not into the show. I put on the Teenage Mutant Turtles and he didn't like it. He loves some superman toys or clothes, pajamas, etc. Just doesn't care for the show.
He loves music and learning. One of his fav is Team Umizoomi and likes Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Of course Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

DS just turned 4 last week. He loves Star Wars - especially Luke and Darth Vader. He's really into Scooby-Doo right now and he likes superheroes too, though I don't think he's seen the show. He also loves Angry Birds (I detest them!). Made the mistake last year and let him play it once in a blue moon on my iPad but I took it off b/c I felt like it made him too crazy. But even though he rarely gets to use the iPad and its not even there anymore, he still always wants to play it. Of course, he especially loves Star Wars Angry Birds.
He's also sometimes into Umizoomi.

My almost 5 yo DS plays alone as well. I hate it, but he seems happy. He likes ninja turtles, transformers, disney cars.

My son will be 4 next month and likes Scooby Doo, Tom and Jerry, Cars, Peppa Pig, Wow Wow Wubbzy, Dora, Octonauts, The Little Ensteins, Peter Rabbit, Jake, Team Umizoomi, Elmo, Thomas, Mike the Knight, Tickety Toc, Max and Ruby....He only watches certain shows when he is in the mood... HE likes Spongebob but I HATE that show and only let him watch it when he is sick!
If I am babysitting older kids, he will watch what they are watching, but he isn't interested in them

Interests- He loves trucks, race cars, trains, basically anything with wheels.He likes building with Legos.. He loves playing with his little animals. We will build a zoo out of Legos and put the animals in it... He has quite an imagination. He will play some board games but he doesn't like to lose, so that doesn't always end well...

My son (just turned 4) is more into construction trucks and garbage trucks than any character or super hero. He likes Spiderman, but doesn't watch the shows, and he knows who Batman is. He has a few Spiderman toys and a Spiderman bicycle.

But if it has wheels, he's into that waaaay more than any character.

My ds is not into characters AT ALL. He would much rather build a lego, play dinosaurs or build race tracks/train tracks.

He likes super heroes but has never watched a show with them in it. He's really big into Monster Trucks right now. The whole Monster Jam organization really.

Thanks for the responses. I tried to show DS Ninja Turtles once, but he wasn't interested. But it sounds like maybe I could show him some of the superheroes.

He is obsessed with Star Wars. Also likes, TMNT, Scooby Doo, Trash Packs, Superheroes, Angry Birds, Shrinky Dinks, Alvin and the Chipmunks.
