7 month sleep question
i think ill need to do CIO - but wondering if anyone has any advice or similar experience...
DD is almost 7 months. for the past 2 months she would nurse at around 6:30pm then she would go to bed and wake at 5:15am for another feeding. i would nurse her and she would sleep til about 7/730am. recently she has been having her last nursing session and going to sleep later (around 8/830) but shes still waking at 5:15 like clockwork. i foolishly thought putting her down 2 hours later would give me 2 more hours in the morning but i was wrong. there are times i go in to her and she cries until i pick her up and there are times i go into her and she smiles at me.
im thinking she is just used to the comfort at 5:15am. She does know how to self soothe - she will whimper and cry during the night but puts herself back to sleep...its just at that 5:15am time that she wont stop. is it time to CIO? or do i continue to feed her?

7 month sleep question
DD didn't sttn consistently until recently at 16 months so I may not be the best to give advice. I always nursed DD when she woke up. I did a lot of reading on the topic when DD's sleep went downhill at month ago. What I read was that CIO likely won't work for a 5am wake since they've already slept for so long. Chances are your options are to continue feeding her or start your day at 5am. I'd pick the feeding! Troublesometots.com was the site I used if you want to check it out.

Re: 7 month sleep question
we are in a similar boat. DD is 7.5 months. She takes her last bottle at 6/630 and sleeps until (sometimes) 6. If she wakes at 6, I feed her and she is up.
If she wakes earlier, I give her a paci and leave her. She ususally falls back to sleep until 630.
Not sure that helps. I don't feed her before 6 regardless.

Re: 7 month sleep question
I think that's just her natural time to wake up and I don't think there's much you can do. Personally, if she is eating at 5:15 when you try to feed her, I'd continue to feed her then and put her back down to sleep.
DS wakes up between 6:30 and 7am no matter when he goes to sleep. He eats then, but is up and never goes back to sleep.

ITA that's a long time for a bf baby to go without eating. My kids are the same way. they are up at 5am, if i'm lucky they go back down till 6:30 after I nurse them. They're up and at em. I know a ton of other kids like that.
