How long to break the swaddle habit?
DS is 19 weeks and it's time... it's costing us more sleep than it is gaining us, he's constantly breaking out of the swaddle (I've tried every blanket out there!) and ticking himself off overnight.
Trying the one arm out technique but not sure how long to do that for before I Take the other arm out? How long does the whole swaddle-breaking process take?
Starting with naps with one arm, should I do bedtime tonight too?

How long to break the swaddle habit?
I never used the swaddle for naps but at night I started with one arm out for about 3 nights, then both arms out for 3 nights, then did away with the swaddle and transitioned to the sleep sack. I did this at about 10 weeks, the same time we transitioned to crib and DD was fine.

We used the sleep sacks with the wings and arms out. (around 4 mo) They eventually got it and stopped waking. Maybe a week or so. Now they just have the plain ones. No wings.

dd was one arm in/out for about 3 nights then i continued to use the swaddle part but left both arms out for about another 5 nights and that was it - habit broken

Pretty much this. Though I think if I went cold turkey it would've been just as effective. DS was just ready to stop swaddling and slept much better once I let him have his hands. He spent so much energy trying to get his hands out that he'd fully wake himself up.
