Pumping Question

It's been 4 years since I pumped, so I'm a little rusty...my dd is 7 weeks and is EBF (never had a bottle). When would you add in a pumping session to start building a freezer stash? She bfs on demand (usually every 2-3 hours) and has her last feeding between 9 and 10 and sleeps from then until 4-5 am...she bfs and is down again until about 7-8...when would you pump? Thanks!

Pumping Question

What time do you go to bed?

I'd pump at either midnight (if you're up) or at 6am.

Pumping Question

I would pump after the 7-8 session. I started pumping around 4 weeks to build up my freezer supply.

Pumping Question

I would pump after her morning feeding when you're the fullest. You'll get the most milk that way. I would nurse DS and then pump some where between 9-11am depending on the day. I was able to build a nice freezer stash before returning to work that way.

Re: Pumping Question

Thanks ladies....that's is sort of what I had done in the past...I pumped at 11pm and 5am while the baby slept. I guess I'll add in a pumping session either after she goes down or before she wakes up for now, and add in the other once it's closer to returning to work. Thanks!

Re: Pumping Question

I would pump 2 hrs after their last feed at night! and After the first morning feed - those times were when I was the most full!
