Dr. Wertheim, Allergist in Lake Success

My sister has an appointment with her son there tomorrow. Just looking for some reviews on him.

My DD saw him and I did NOT care for him at all. He ruled out a viral infection when my DD was covered in hives. Put her on very large doses of meds. I asked about testing and elimination diets which he felt were not necessary. Told me to just deal with it and see if they go away in a month. We saw Dr Corriel who immediately changed her meds, helped me with her diet and tested her. Huge difference. The first one saw nothing wrong with her having hives for 4-6 weeks on high doses of meds that were making her wheepy and hyper. I can't recommend him. I would recommend Dr. Corriel or his partner. Dr Lang also gets very high recommendations. I haven't seen him though but know manh who have.

I took my son to see him based upon a friend's recommendation. We didn't necessarily have any pressing medical concerns; our son had been diagnosed with a severe peanut allergy along with a variety of other allergies, so I wanted to be seen by a specialist instead of simply his pediatrician.

Dr. Wertheim is VERY friendly and VERY talkative--I liked that. He was also very good with my son, who was just over two at the time. He did the skin testing (he'd already had the battery of blood work) and talked with us at length. No issues at all; I would recommend.
