Volvo XC90 and Britax Marathon Issues

Volvo XC90 and Britax Marathon Issues
I just moved the Britax Marathon from rear facing to foward facing and it does not fit under the headrests in the Volvo XC90. Has anyone had this issue and been able to remedy it? I think we may have to buy a different carseat. What do you recommend if you drive this car?

Volvo XC90 and Britax Marathon Issues
I have an XC60 and a Britax Advocate and it fits in my car, so I can't imagine a smaller car seat not fitting in the bigger car. Did you un-recline the seat when you turned it around?

I'll ask my husband but I think it's in the right position. I looked at some carseat forums and the same issue came up. The Britax Marathon and Boulevard both don't fit FF in the Volvo.

While on vacation we rented a volvo xc90 and we have a Britax Boulevard and we were able to make it fit by removing the head rest. HTH
link to explain how to remove the head rests The version we rented had the hard to reach tabs under the headrest.

We don't have a Volvo. We have a Nissan Murano and we had to remove the headrest for our Britax Marathon

Guess it is a good thing I have the Advocate then!
I didn't think the head rests came out in the Volvo - I thought it was a safety thing.
