What to buy 2 month old girl with no baby registry?
DH's friend had his first baby 2 months ago. We are going to visit the baby. Want to buy a gift for ~$50.
Can you suggest something for a 2m old?
Could not find a registry for the couple.
I personally don't like receiving clothing gifts but am thinking that will be the route that we go.

What to buy 2 month old girl with no baby registry?
To me, that's an age when they start playing with more toys so that would be a fun option. A crinkly book, one of the lamaze toys, an oball, would all be nice. DD loved the FP 123 Go Snail.
As far as clothes, I always like getting pajamas since I only got them in smaller sizes. The Carter's sherpa jacket is awesome for when the weather gets colder.

Totally forgot about that. I will get some touch books and those Lamaze toys.
I was thinking of getting a music table but that is age inappropriate.

My favorite gift to give people after their baby is born is the Pottery Barn Chamois Stroller Blanket ($29.50 + $7 for Personalization) with the name of the baby (sometimes I do the birthday too). I don't know how much time you have to get a gift, but PB is usually pretty good and I feel like I usually have my blanket within a week. I also always buy a childrens book to go with the blanket, my favorite go to, is If I Could Keep You Little by Marianne Richmond...it's my favorite!

I love personalized items. I also think a toy or gift that is appropriate for a 6 month old is fine - it will be here before they know it! And clothes are fine so long as you give a gift receipt.

I second the Pottery Barn blanket. You can also do matching/coordinating bib and or burp cloth or add a book or toy to complete the gift.
On a side note, that book sounds awesome and I will be looking into it!

I got a PB bath towel w hoodie with my DD name on it and LOVE IT. If you dont have time then a toy or gift card w teddy bear is a good idea. Maybe cute knit hat & mittens for winter...

one of my fave gifts was a personalized frame from personalizationmall.com. so pretty.
I was going to suggest getting an activity mat. dd got hers for Christmas - she wasn't even 2 months yet - she liked it right away and grew to like it more and more each day. used it until 9 months old then she still played with the toys that hooked on/hung above her, just not on the actual mat anymore.
also books are a great idea. dd has probably around 100 at this point and we read a ton every day and we have since she was just a few weeks old. a cute storage bin or something the parents could use to store toys down the road filled with books is a great idea.
if you're going to do clothes, I would get a bunch of one piece pj's for the winter.
