Do you find breast feeding really hard?

Its hard to hold baby as the weight of the boob cant be on their chest and the boobs can smother baby

I feel the supply is so buried in their (haha) i cant massage it to help the flow
I also can't feel let down or when im empty so i dont think i help my supply


Am i alone?

I am a 38DD. I had SUCH a hard time with my first in the first few days, for the same reasons. I really felt like I could not figure out how to not smother him with my boob haha. I was so worried about making sure he had a proper latch while at the same time trying not to cover his nose with the rest of my boob. One of the nurses at the hospital showed me the football hold and that changed the whole thing for me! I don't know if you are familiar with that hold, but if not, I'd definitely recommend looking it up and trying it. It helps get baby's mouth lines up nicely for a good latch, while keeping the rest of the breast away from his face. HTH!

I just hold my boob up with one hand and hold DD across my chest with the other. Often at home we nurse laying down - that makes it much easier.

On a side note - if you ever go in to the city, I recommend visiting the Upper Breast Side - they have a great selection of very supportive nursing bras for us moms with big boobs!

I did as above... Baby one hand, boob the other.
No support pillows as they held baby too high.
I am 34 DD, but was bigger when BF.

I'm a 38G and I used pillows and the boppy a lot. I got DS settled and I would have to hold my boob back from his nose so I didn't suffocate him. I was awful at the football pose, although that would have been the best for him. We managed to survive and at 10 months we nurse lying down (if he cooperates!).

When not pregnant or BF, I'm a 34D... now that I'm BF my twins, I'm a 36F

I have to literally hold my breast up when feeding them or else they will be smothered lol. You are not alone!

I had a lot of trouble BFing for lots and lots of reasons, and my 34DDs did not help. Had to do the same as others have mentioned - boob "sandwich" (I had to like flatten it a little and feed it to him) in one hand, baby in other.

I only like bfing when laying down. I tried to ebf her but nursing in public I wasn't comfortable and I felt like I was smothering her. I pump now and bf her in the am and pm at home. I wish I was smaller chested. I think it would be so much easier.

Seriously I was afraid of suffocating him with that gigantic thing. It was so heavy I'd be trying to hold it up with one hand while holding him in the other. It was not a pleasant experience. I pump only now & it's so much easier!
