I work in the city and before I go back they want me to visit with the baby, do you think taking her on the train is okay?

I think it is totally OK, but I am also not a first time mom. Baby #2 went everywhere after 6 weeks!

I wouldn't have an issue. I brought DS 1 before I went back to work in the city but, I drove in because our train line doesn't have great service - but, wouldn't have hesitated to take the train.

I would. But I also only take my kid on non rush hour or edge of rush hour trains. I just don't want to be that mom who disrupts the entire train.

I bought DS on the LIRR at 11 weeks to visit my job so yes; 8 weeks should be ok. I also did a non rush hour train. Fortunately he just slept the whole way with no disruption to any of the riders.
