Am I crazy?
I am only 100% comfortable leaving DC (10 months) with my husband and my mother. With anyone else I feel super guilty for leaving her. For example: MY MIL is watching her pretty much all day today as I am sick and my husband is working. And I just keep thinking maybe I can take care of her (with a fever of 102).
I feel like a nutcase. Does it get better as they get older? Or do I need meds? hahaha

Am I crazy?
IT GETS BETTER When they are older, they speak up - they say when they are hungry, thirsty or tired - and what they want to do. Also, they learn what they aren't supposed to do LOL my 3 year old will say "Sorry Nanny, I am not allowed to have fruit snacks!" hehehehehe

Re: Am I crazy?
I think I need drugs. I am the same way.
DD is 12 months and I have ONLY left her with DH and my mother and even then I have been super anxious about it, unhappy about it and rushing home to know every single detail that went on. I do pray it will get better with time, as she is older and when we feel our LO's can communicate better. But it is terrible how I can't be apart from her for an hour without worrying so much.

I am the same way except my DD is 7 months. I'm hoping it gets better!

Re: Am I crazy?
I only ever leave my kids with my parents or DH.............and my DD is almost 5!!! Outside of DH, I just feel most comfortable with my parents watching them because they are the closet family to them and know their routines and habits. You're not crazy.

Re: Am I crazy?
Once you do it, you will realize that your child is ok and it gets easier.
For the first 6 months DS was only with me, DH or our parents. But then I went back to work and we had to leave him with a nanny. Find someone you trust and it gets easier.
One day your child has to go to school so it's better to get them used to being around others when they are younger. It's always harder on the mom than the child.

I know... guilt is weird.
Get better! You can't take care of her well with a fever.
Go get some

I agree. I am a SAHM, but my boys have been left with people besides DH & the grandparents. My BFF watches them, as well as our neighbor. The first time we did it, my older DS was 5 months old, we had a wedding to go to. I cried for 10 minutes, and then I relaxed and had an amazing time. Now, we leave the boys to go out 2-3 times a month- sometimes just us, sometimes with friends, and it is so good for the boys. They are comfortable with people besides family, DH & I get couple time and friend time, and my parents & inlaws get a break!

I will leave DS with anyone who will take him. I got over that fear the day I dropped him off at daycare. Now as long as I know the person and they are not a criminal, high or drunk I'm out the door!

This about sums it up for me too. Love my boys more than anything in this world, but the minute I get a chance to get out, even for an hour, I am GONE.

No you are not crazy! I never left my twins with anyone besides my mom, sister or SIL. I am waaaaay too nervous. I suppose I will have to get over that eventually!
