Re: NYC aquarium?
If you are referring to the NY aquarium in Coney Island, we just went and it was TERRIBLE. A big portion is still closed but it was sooo crowded(I guess since there is less space open) that we could not see anything. We walked in and walked out 10 minutes later. We went on a weekend right when it opened. Maybe if you went during the week it would be less crowded and more worth it, just don't expect much.
ETA we went at 10am when the facility opened, not the first weekend it reopened post-sandy.

Re: NYC aquarium?
We were there the week before last. Skip it.
ETA: To bounce off of what PP just said: we were there on a weekday. Go elsewhere.

NYC aquarium?
It's so small right now because the big fish and mammals aren't back. But we were lucky when we went. The scuba divers who were cleaning the tanks put on a show for the kids. But if you don't live far and have a membership, it's good. Walk the boardwalk. But I wouldn't go if I had to drive far or had to pay.

Re: NYC aquarium?
So what is open exactly? Is the shark tank open? I live nearby and was thinking of DD tomorrow but I'm wondering if it is worth it or not?

I am a member but live about 40 minutes away. still worth it? what is exactly open? I am trying to decide what to do today with the girls and am really torn. We did the queens zoo yesterday so I was looking for something a little different

Re: NYC aquarium?
What's open and what's closed? I was planning on bringing my girls tomorrow morning just to do something. We live about 15 mins away so it's not a huge deal to just pop in for an hour if there's at least SOMETHING to see...
