Anyone ever use a lesser known car rental company?
We're going to Florida the end of August. We usually use Alamo or budget, but I'm not finding any great deals. I did find a midsize SUV for $189.99 plus tax for the week, but it's a company I've never even heard of. Would you use a non-brand name company? Or pay a little more and use a bigger-brand company?

What stops me from using something like Fox or pay less is usually their proximity to the airport in Vegas.
IDK if that's the same in Florida but after checking their reviews I'd need to know exactly how far it is to pick up the car.

We rented at Fox in Tampa and like the above poster said its not in the proximity of the airport. However, we did get a free shuttle to the Fox and was only 10 minutes away. . Only issues was the car seats; they were dirty and flimsy.

We use sixt in Florida, great prices much nicer cars than the big companies. They have fantastic shuttle service to the airport.

I'm using them Saturday, in FL. Used them in Europe with no problems.

Hertz does price matching- I would do that before I'd use a lesser known company. I work in the industry and I have heard too many stories about poor maintenance on the lesser car companies. I'd stick with the big ones- Hertz, Enterprise, Alamo-- also Dollar and Thrifty are now owned by hertz, so I would trust them as well now

Th deal I saw is through Dollar, so I feel a little better about it now.
