My daughter took a trial class at 2 and 8 months later she is still doing some ballet move she learned on that one day. So i wouls say yes. I'm enrolling her in September. She'll be 3 months shy of 3.

My DD is 3 1/2 and started ballet this summer. She loves it and has asked to continue. She has learned the basic positions 1-3 and is doing some tumbling, stretching, and movement exercises. She really enjoys the class a lot. She takes them at the local Y.

Re: Ballet/Tap for 3 year old

I haven't taught the little ones in quite a few years but as a dance teacher I can tell you that most of them love it and are little sponges. Every kid is different but you'd be surprised how much they'll learn and remember, especially when they practice something every week.

Even if they aren't learning specific technique yet they're developing coordination and also learning to follow directions and wait for their turn to do something.
