Day Care or full time babysitter

I have to put my LO in day care or with a babysitter come September. I was wondering if any one knows of some one who will accommodate a teacher schedule.

Most places I looked to what her to go full time. I need to find some place that is flexible with my school schedule.

Thanks for the help.

Ps I am looking in the Long Beach area or 5 towns. I work in brooklyn.

Where do you live?

I don't know any around there... However my daycare doesn't charge for summers - closed on federal holidays - open on school vacations for the most part. The schedule works well and my husband and I are both teachers.

This was my concern with hiring a babysitter... what if they call out sick? Then you are stuck too KWIM?

That's what back up care is for.

But you could also think of the other side...if your child is sick, day care won't let you bring him/her in. But a nanny would watch a sick child. No solution is perfect.

My sister is a teacher and uses a nanny who is OK with her schedule. In the summer, she still comes 1 or 2 times a week just to help her out.

ETA i believe she found her on care.com

You just need to look - you can find either one if you look hard enough. I would decide what you prefer and focus on that. We found our nanny on sittercity.
