Anyone have complications from a repeat c-section?
My Dr. went through a whole list of possibilites, but kept asking me if I wanted more children. I left there uneasy. Then she told me she has only done a few in her career.
As if I wasn't nervous enough about having another c-section.

Re: Anyone have complications from a repeat c-section?
I've had 2 C-sections, absoluetely no complications. in fact, I think the recovery was easier the second time around (because I knew what to expect). Initally, I had some bruising and edema around the incision, which I didn't have the 1st time, but it resolved completely on its own.

I would find another obgyn asap. The fact that she has only done a few repeat c/s makes me uneasy. I would find an experienced doctor who can care for you.

I've had 3- no problems.
I agree- I would find another ob/gyn who has done more repeat sections.

Re: Anyone have complications from a repeat c-section?
I just had my third, and recovery has been amazing! I havent had to take any pain meds ans my OB is super happy with everything.
I would def find another OB, it's still major surgery and I would want someone who has had a lot of experience

Anyone have complications from a repeat c-section?
I'm having my fourth in 2 weeks, and my dr. Was not concerned at all and has done up to 6 c-sections on some women. I would be worried and not feel confident with your dr.

Anyone have complications from a repeat c-section?
I have no personal experience with this but have family and friends who had no problem with this at all. I'd be highly concerned that your dr isn't experienced with this and also doesn't seem very confident in it when for most it's fairly common to have a repeat c-section. My advice would be to look for a new ob

Re: Anyone have complications from a repeat c-section?
What does she mean she has only done a few? In residency she should have done or at least participated in many. Is she is very very new Dr? That would concern me the most. I would find a new Dr keeping in mind you are really looking for an experienced surgeon since you know you are having a c-section.

Totally agree!!
As it is, you are nervous about having the c-section itself and add on the fact that the obgyn has only done few is frightening! Is it a practice with other doctors? If not, find another doctor asap!!!
ETA: to answer your question. In regards to complications to repeat c-section, I only had one previous c section; however, I had a myomectomy previously and the incision was in the same place as my c-section. The only thing that happened in delivery is that my obgyn found scar tissue and was cleaning it up, which took a little longer but not that much longer. The anesthesia started to wear off and I started to feel some minor pain.

Anyone have complications from a repeat c-section?
I've had 2 csections and will be having another in September. I will say this after the second section I had bad back pain for the first year following it due to the spinal block.
I do know if you have 2 back to back they suggest waiting at least 3 years before you try for a third because the scar tissue takes a beating but that doesn't seem to be your case.
Also you may want to find a new OB!!!!!

I've had 2 C-sections. No complications and no issues long term. Everything went fine and I healed well.
