we do it "modified" so he's not on top of me but holding my legs up.

he will not squish the baby...ever...
unless he is putting a lot, and I mean A LOT of pressure on you later in your pregnancy. They are quite protected in their little cocoons, plus you are like 6 weeks right? Your baby is less than a peanut 
I stopped letting him lay directly on top of me around 12 weeks because it was uncomfortable and weird for me to feel it (that is when your uterus begins to move up in your pelvic region)
we "did it" missionary style with him barely leaning on me 2 days before she was born and she was just fine

thanks i odnt know why but i feel this dull pain in my left side ever since.... im going to be 9 weeks this sat....time flies already

We kind of do the same thing. I have a few pillows propping me up so I'm not completely on my back plus my hands are usually pushing his stomach away from mine. It's actually become quite comical and sometimes we're too busy laughing to really get into it!
