Re: Sesame Place...so on the fence!
We went the first weekend in June with my son (he will be 3 in August) and my nephew who just turned 2. It's definitely not as clean as Disney- even my son asked at a restaurant "who made this mess" However, they both had a great time! We did the Elmo tickets. Got there late Saturday morning and left Sunday afternoon. Overall they had a great time, but I don't think we will be going back.

Re: Sesame Place...so on the fence!
We have been there twice ( both times s day trips) and my kids like it and have fun. Every time we have gone it has been clean the and the crowd has been fine - at any amusement park you are going to see a cross section of people because an amusement park (even Disney) is not a highbrow vacation. That being said we have always gone during the week so maybe it's different on weekends.
As an aside everyone here raves about Dutch Wonderland and I hated it. I thought the best part if the whole thing was the Eden resort. The whole place looked so dinky and bootleg to me - never again! Thankfully we do disney every year so I am not going to bother with the local ones.

I can't comment on the age bc DS went for the 1st time last week at 3.5 but I can comment on the condition of the park. I had absolutely no issue with the park. I did not find it dirty or gross. The water was fine, I didn't see garbage thrown about, the bathrooms were relatively clean, etc. I honestly don't see what people complain about. I went on a Saturday. No one that I know personally has ever complained about the park. We are really glad we went, DS had a blast as did we.

Re: Sesame Place...so on the fence!
it's not my favorite park - We went when my first was a little over 1 - we haven't been back (and he's now 4)
I like the idea of going in early October. I think the water park area is what turned me off - If I can erase that experience, I would have no issue at all.
I just found the water park to be skeevy (which you probably just can't help w/ 500 babies in a pool!) but I'd happily pass on that one.

Sesame Place...so on the fence!
We were there last Sat. DS is 2 (27 months).
First, you have to do the water part or it is soooo not worth the admission. We didn't do that as I forgot to bring swim diapers - we had just gotten back from a WDW trip so we just threw stuff into another bag. DS was also crazy tired from that trip and not into spending another insanely hot day in the stroller. There are very few dry rides, and it won't take long to do them.
Anyway, the rides were ok. The balloon ride smelled - I think it was the rubber. The employees soooo do not want to be there. It takes forever to load and unload the rides and then to start them. Same to order our lunch. We saw very little line cutting (a lot less than at WDW!), and it did not seem overly dirty. No issues with the type of people there or whatever.
We thought about staying for the parade, but DS was cranky (no nap) and an hour before ALL of the shade was taken by people holding their spot with towels!
The good news is that Elmo never had a line, because he is hidden in the back of the park.
We have no desire to go back there.
