BTDT breastfeeding newborn with jaundice
I just had my baby on Sunday, I was ebf, but she ended up getting really yellow, losing 10oz, and her bilirubin is high. My pediatrician has me nursing ten minutes on each side, then giving her as much formula as she will take. I am ok with this, whatever she needs is most important. I am just wondering, my milk came in today, should I do the ten minutes then pump? I have a dr appt on Friday, I am hoping everything is better, but I don't want to lose milk.

I EBF my daughter on demand, she was born jaundice and tested every 2 days, about the 4th blood draw she was higher than they would like to see so ordered the billi blanket light for home, had her on that for over week....

Same thing happened with my LO 2 months ago. I continued doing both bottle and bf but if you want to ebf I'd bf 20 mins on each side and then offer formula and see if Lo wants it. I found bf and pumping was too much for me. Another suggestion is bf on one side for 20 mins, while pumping the other side and offer Lo the pumped milk afterward.

I BFed, pumped and had DD in the sun naked until her levels went down.

My dd had breastmilk jaundice i was told to formula feed for 10 days to flush out..it worked.

We go tomorrow to check her levels. She eats like a champ! She will go from boob to bottle no problem and she's drinking at least 2 ounces of formula. I am hoping this is working, now that my milk came in I am sure she's getting more liquid to flush her out.

Both of my DS had jaundice I would feed them every two hours day and night I would set my alarm at night. With my first DS he was tongue tied so I exclusively pumped the key is to make them pee and poop more
Ask for help from family friends and try to pump every time you give formula
I also put them naked by the window
