I'm rejoining this board
Quick intro since I don't think anyone was around when I was a poster last year.
I'm 38. DH is 39. DH had a failed vasectomy reversal, which is what led us to an RE in Jan. 2012. I learned that I had DOR during testing. 1st IVF cycle was canceled due to poor response. Attempt #2 resulted in 6R, 5M, 2 fertilized via ICSI. We transferred both. We now have a 4 month old DD who is my love.
We saw the RE this morning to get the results of CD3 testing. My FSH is a 6 (it was nearly 10 last year), but my AMH is .24 (it was .76 last year). Unfortunately, FSH can go up and down as menopause nears, so the lower number isn't off-setting my concern about the decreased AMH.
Anyway, gearing up for a cycle in August, hopefully. I found this board so supportive and informative last year. Looking forward to this journey with you all

Welcome back. Happy for you that you were able to get preg via IVF! If you can share your IVF experiences I bet that would be helpful to a lot of us who are heading down that road soon. I'm on IUI #5 and IVF seems so involved. Best of luck to you in your August cycle. That will be great to have 2 kids close in age.

I'd be more than happy to share anything that you (collective 'you') might find helpful.
I will say this: I didn't find IVF to be very involved, but I think I viewed IF differently than a lot of people with whom I spoke. Because of my canceled cycle, I was on super high stims the 2nd time (4 injections each day while stimming). Daily monitoring was annoying, but it was only 11 days. I don't know, I guess it was just the way I was looking at IVF. I knew that it was the only way for us to conceive . I was so prepared, in my mind, that it just seemed matter-of-fact.
I did all of the things I read about. After the transfer, I ate walnuts, dranks grape juice, and ate pineapple core for 3 days. My RE believed in complete bed rest for 24 hrs after transfer (I wasn't even allowed to be in a seated position, only laying flat). On days 2 and 3, I was allowed to prop myself up a bit, but still was laying down on the couch. Did any of these things help? I have no idea. I just know that I will do them again if we make it to transfer.
I love this board because we can share our experiences with one another. The path is different for all of us, but we're all hoping to get to the same destination.
