Indigestion
Anyone get indigestion that causes chest/back pain? Last night, at 3 am, on one of my many bathroom trips I had a pain that was in the middle of my chest that went straight through to my back and sort of in my upper shoulders. It went away fairly quickly, but then I was up all night with heart burn and burping and starving!! Of course I was terrified it was a heart attack and I am going to go to the walkin place today and see if I can get an ekg

Indigestion
YES..heartburn always happened at night for me (last night actually) its because your hormones loosen up that flap that blocks food/air in your esphogus (sp?) when you eat and breathe so acid comes leaking thru when your laying down..its sucks so bad. I pop TUMS through out the night. I did ask Pharamacy what was safe and Pepcid & Zyrtec were ok to take while pregnant (have to take I think 2x a day). Hope you feel better.

Re: Indigestion
TUMS works instantly and so well for me.
I get the cherry flavored ones, I feel they are easier to tolerate.
After a while, once they gave me such relief, I actually don't mind them anymore because I think I now associate them with comfort lol.

Re: Indigestion
I have never had it hurt my back but the other night we went to outback and it hurt in my chest like right in the middle. Felt like I swallowed without chewing and something was stuck. I slept horrible that night and ended up taking tums and also pepcid. The last few weeks I have had to end up taking pepcid almost every night because its so bad the tums don't work. Only 2 more days being pregnant and I won't miss the heartburn!!!!

Re: Indigestion
My OB ended up sending me to my regular doctor, he is a "better safe than sorry" guy, especially since my c-section is on Monday. I went to him, who sent me next door to the cardiologist, they share an office, they did all sorts of tests, and everything was okay. he said indigestion can radiate like that. It was so terrifying, I was on the verge of having my husband take me to the ER.
