Do you actually speak to your RE??
I am still freaking with the whole clomid thing so I am thinking I want to speak to my RE by phone before I get the prescription tomorrow. Whenever I have questions, the front desk girls always say for me to leave a message for the nurse. How can I bypass this and just speak to the RE? I go to RS of NY and it's always super busy there :/

Re: Do you actually speak to your RE??
What if you told the front desk girls that you wanted to speak to your RE instead of a nurse because you have concerns about a medication you are starting tomorrow? Would they give the nurse the message that you wanted to speak to the dr?

That's a good way to word it. I actually called to speak to the RE specifically twice and the nurse always called me back with the answer. I am just going to keep it vague and throw in concerns and hope the RE will call this time! lol

When you speak to the front desk tell them you don't want the nurse yo want an RE! More than likely a nurse will call you back but just tell them you want the RE. If they refuse go there in the AM around 7:30 that is when the doctor arrives and speak to them then. My only issue at RS of NY you deal with the nurse 75% of the time.
That's the one thing I liked about NSUH; you always see an RE.

I would leave a message for the nurse to have one of the drs call you back. What are your concerns with Clomid?

You can try to bypass by calling the front and asking to speak to the RE directly as pp suggested. I have to be honest I saw your last post about clomid which really is the mildest med you can be on in the "world of infertility" other than timed intercourse and unmedicated IUI, which depending on your issues may not really increase your chances at all, there's really little an RE can do for you without also prescribing medication. It may be a good idea to sit down with your RE and discuss your fears and what plan the dr has for you in the future. Good luck

Re: Do you actually speak to your RE??
I worked with Dr.Braverman and Dr.Tortoriello, both who have excellent communication and accessibility. To me, not having that is a deal breaker- although it's also what I've grown accustomed to over the years. I was basically "trained" to expect that sort of thing which makes it hard to be with any other doctor since MOST are not like that.

Re: Do you actually speak to your RE??
Yea Penny, apparently it's more common to speak to a nurse than a RE in my practice :/
Today's appt went very well.. Dr. Sung was awesome. She really motivated me into doing the clomid and going forward. When I asked ab my numbers (low amh and high estrogen) she was point blank that they are just numbers- they can fluctuate so stop focusing on the numbers and focus on a successful treatment. She also said that my numbers did not mean that I won't get preg and that my age is still young and can counter this. My numbers are low bc of damage from endometriosis- I was stage 4. She was positive but also stern that it may take time for me to get preg. I just felt more confident leaving the office this time.

I go to RS of NY and the couple times I've needed to call and speak to my dr- I did. I clearly stated thati needed to speak with the doctor not the nurse. Mat of the time I deal with the nurses but the few time I wanted to talk to dr I did.
