Does anybody here have it? Is it worth it?

Re: iRobot Roomba
I'd love to know as well. BTW, it's on groupon for much cheaper.

Re: iRobot Roomba
I bought it about 4 years ago. I works but its not a substitute for a good vacuuming. For me it was good for in between, I would set it up before I went to work a couple of times a week in different rooms instead of a quick vacuuming after work. I stopped using it during major renovations we had going on, then I gave it to my mom. She still uses it I think.

iRobot Roomba
i have the 630 model (it was about half the price) and absolutely love it.
It cleans much better than i expected it to. The very first time i ran it, i thought my carpets were pretty clean but it picked up TONS of dust and hair.
Now i run it a few times a week. I love that it requires no time or effort - just press a button and sit back down.

Re: iRobot Roomba
I love mine - what we did, because I didn't want to spend money on something that I didn't exactly "need", was ask for it for Christmas one year. IL's bought it for us - I think they used their 20% off coupon at BB&B. After using it for about a year I was having a little issue with it - the dirt collector would detach on it's own from Roomba and Roomba would continue on her way without her dust collector! So, I took it back to BB&B and they were wonderful - no questions asked, we exchanged it for a new one.
Now, I have had the new one for like two years and it's been wonderful. I have to say, from the beginning, it cleans very well - Do I still take out my amazing vacuum and do that sometimes? Absolutely. But, if I vac say once a week - this will get me by with clean floors until that week is up and it will even buy me a few extra days.
I use it on tile, wood, and carpet - in our old home we had all three. I like that it makes the carpet have the "just done" lines in it, I like that I can turn it on and let it go right before company comes over while I'm cooking, etc. It is so convenient. I have the one you can program to come on when you're at work. So, it comes on and when I come home, it's done. I'm constantly SHOCKED by the dust, dirt, crap, you name it that comes out of that little bin when I empty it.
I think the important thing is, if you want it to last, to make sure you clean it - the brushes, the filter, etc. and replace those when necessary. That is very important to keeping Roomba happy. We named ours Rosie the Roomba lol so I will just ask DH to flip Rosie on and she will buzz around the house and do what she needs to do - I don't have to worry about her falling down the stairs or anything, the sensors are amazing. She does the whole area and it usually takes about 30-40 minutes and she'll find her way back to her charging station and done! It's a blessing

Does it work for dog hair? My dogs shed a lot and I have to sweep my floor twice a day.

My two dogs don't shed so I'm not sure - but it sure as heck gets my hair up LOL it's sad that I shed more than my animals.

EXACTLY this. It's great for "upkeep" and doing under the beds, etc. I still have to use my dyson for my high traffic zones like area rugs. I adore having it for mid-week cleaning!

Re: iRobot Roomba
I just wonder if this will be practical with three little ones and a dog.
Is it loud? Is it something I can run at night? We live in a ranch, so sound travels.

Re: iRobot Roomba
I'm very sensitive to noise so I always did it while I was at work. It's not louder than a regular vacuum. My dog also really hated it.
