Hospital
i know this has been asked before but we have a lot of new preggo's who have recently joined...
where is everyone delivering?
i found out yesterday that my doctor's are switching hospitals. They are willing to still deliver me at Winthrop but they are switching to NSUH. I'm a little nervous b/c my first two were born at Winthrop but i also feel like i should switch b/c thats where they will primarily be.
any one have any info on NSUH they can share?
I hear the rooms are nicer than winthrop. he also said the NICU is amazing.

Any chance you are with the University Plaza OBs? My OB delivers out of Winthrop where I will be delivering but in September I heard he is switching to NSUH.

yup!! i saw Rosenberg yesterday. He said that by October (of course when i am due) they would really like to be just in NSUH. He said of course they will go to Winthrop if someone does not want to change. But we feel like what if they are both at NS and i go into labor - i will end up the attending and not my own doctor. i did LOVE Winthrop.

I'm glad to hear you loved Winthrop because in August they'll still be there! I use Dr.Cafaro but met Dr.Rosenberg a few months ago and he was really nice.
Honestly, if they are trying to primarily be at NSUH, I'd take the plunge and go for a change since that's where they will mostly be.  I'm jealous that you will have a nicer room!!!

Same with me. Cafaro is my primary. But both times Rosenberg ended up delivering me. i happened to like him in the delivery room b/c he doesnt mess around. he wants to get things moving and have you done asap. i know some people rather go slower and not rush things but not me. the faster the better!! My sister had Cafaro in the delivery room and loved him.

Thanks! That's good to know. I honestly feel like you can't go wrong with either. Is it odd that my only special request for the OR (if I need a c/s) besides my dh being there is that there's music playing?  I've been in an OR a few times for other random things and there was always music playing and I always really liked that. It made it feel less "serious" if that makes sense!

not at all!!! the regular delivery rooms are absolutely beautiful and huge!!! it feels more like you are in a hotel room. Makes you feel at home. im not sure about the OR though. But you should be able to have whatever you want!!

I had DD at NSUH last month and everything was great. The nurses were really nice and attentive, and the rooms look like hotel rooms!

I was a l&d nurse at Winthrop and now I work at the Outpatient office near the hospital. Winthrop as a whole is great.

If they're delivering at North Shore it'll be the Katz Women's Hospital there. All of the rooms are private and state of the art. You can take a virtual tour on their website northshorelij.com
I had DS when Katz was under construction so I'm excited to see the new facility when this DC is born!
Well ... as excited as you can be being in a hospital.
