Ovulating Twice???

I'll apologize before I begin since this may be a little lengthy. I'm on my second cycle of Clomid (100mg) which I took from May 20-24. On Tuesday May 28th I got a + on CBE digital OPK test. I went in for bloodwork the next day at the RE and the levels showed ovulation and the previous sono showed a mature follicle on the left. Then Sat I went in for a progesterone test. They said that my progesterone level was a 1.5 which would indicate that I may have not ovulated.
So they asked me to come back today for a follow up P4 Progesterone test and a sono. I was SHOCKED to see that I had 4 (yes 4) follicles (two were 14 and two were 25). They called me this afternoon and left a message requesting I come back in again Thursday for another sono And more bloodwork. they also ordered an HCG injection which they said depending on the bloodwork and sono I may or may not need then.

I have sooo many questions but by the time I got the message and called back they were gone for the day.

What are your thoughts on this? Is it possible to ovulate twice in a cycle? Should I start BDing tonight to cover my bases? Are there other questions I should be thinking of???

You cannot ovulate twice in a single cycle. More than likely your body geared up to O the first time, but didn't. I'd ask for a trigger next time to ensure that you do O when your follies are mature. This way you know your timing will be right.

you can ovulate twice its just extremely unlikely. like EXTREMELY. i would guess you never Oed the first time. if you have PCOS your LH could jump causing a plus OPK and positive bloodwork but does not result in ovulation. as long as you are making mature follicles the trigger shot is the best way to ensure ovulation.

Thank girls...You both were dead on. I spoke with the nurse today who had consulted with my dr. They feel that I had a surge, which resulted in a false positive on the OPK. Then the surge dropped back down allowing me to make 4 follies (1 is 11.5, 1 is 14.5 and 2 are 22.5). They ordered me the trigger which I am getting tomorrow and then we go Thursday for the first IUI. I am excited and nervous! I don't want to get my hopes up too high since I know how disappointing infertility can be, but I am keeping positive this may work given the # of follies I have! THank you again for the info. You all are SO knowledgeable! Now I'm going to make a second post about IUI, because I need to know all that is involved!
