Vacation plans & office vists- WWYD?
Good morning all,
Today is my first CD1 after my 4/26 D&C so I am ready to get back into it. DH and I want to get away for the week of July 15th for about 7 days but the I'm sure the doctors would have concerns about me flying w a history of miscarriage now.
If this cycle is a success, then I would be pregnant for my trip. If not, that week would overlap with my CD 14 ultrasound unless we made it a week later.
My question is would you put treatment on hold missing out on 2 cycles till you return or skip planning an airplane trip altogether? We have have gift certificates that we would have to use by year end for the flight. Grrr
Thanks ladies.

I would go on the trip and not miss cycling but thats me. You cannot control what will happen if and when you get pregnant so I would live your life as normally as you can.

Congrats on getting AF :) I'm not sure what you should do, I was suppose to be 8 weeks preg when we went on our cruise but I didbt fly. I had asked my re all these questions prior to booking a trip bc I wanted to cover all basis
Maybe speaking to them will help you make yor decision easier- I had a million questions bc a baby was way more important than a vaca

I would continue to live your life. If I put my life on hold while doing treatments it would have been an even longer 3+ years...... I'd just be smart about it and get travel insurance so if for whatever reason you decide you aren't comfortable, etc. and wanna cancel, you can. We did that once when I was scheduled to go on a cruise and then found out I was pregnant with triplets and had spotting. Unfortunately though, staying home didn't change the outcome.
Good luck!

I asked if i can fly, he wasnt thrilled so we opted to take a cruise from NYC, he said to keep moving and walking to prevent cramping in the legs etc. His main concern was to look into emergency situations and insurnace god for bid of a MC or anything else. Well with all that went on, we went on the cruise adn had my D & C 3 days prior to our trip

Thank you and I do agree. I don't want to have any regrets thinking 'we should've just went went' but then again want to be able to enjoy it & not fear of jepardizing anything doing activities. I will check but are activities (water sports or rides for ex) a no-no that early in pregnancy?

I would imagine so but I'm not one to ask because A) I'm not into water sports or rides of any kind and B) my pregnancies are high risk so I'm always told to take it easy regardless.

Vacation plans & office vists- WWYD?
I would take the trip. I agree you can put your life on hold for the "what ifs". I did in the beginning and I do regret it. Now I just go with it and make my plans. I booked a trip to TX to see a friend this week and happened to wind up being smack dab in the middle of my cycle. I got a little crazy thinking about possibilities and what ifs, but I just relaxed and went with it. I can't control it. So we went through with the cycle, RE said it was ok, we had IUI 2 days before I left, and here I am poolside enjoying every second and glad I didn't cancel the trip or the cycle.
Best of luck to you no matter what you choose :)

Plan your trip. There is no guarantee in life that you will be pregnant on it and if it falls in the middle of your cycle like mine did, can't you just go for a natural cycle? Why would you have to take two cycles off? We took the one off and are jumping back into it if/when this cycle is a bust. Live your life. Plus you need a break from this reality every now and then. I hear you. My protocol will prob be same. Letrozole and ovidrel and ultrasound all on cd 14 w a possible IUI on cd15. If I'm away for cd14 I can't have an ultrasound & the nurse gives me my shot. TI would be the way to go in that case. It's just hard planning around this but I'm sure it can be done.

TI is better than nothing!! Plus you may be so relaxed being on vacation that your body will welcome the BFP!! Stay positive!
