Low Sodium Eating out options?
If you have to follow a low sodium diet, what do you eat when you can't bring lunch to work?
I have a lot of dining options around me, but I cant think of anything that is low in salt.
I had McDonald's and realized after that even the SHAKE had 240mg of sodium! I had stomach cramping and a severe headache all night and my OB agreed I was probably dehydrated due to the high sodium content. . .b/c I drink a LOT of water!
I bring lunch daily, but sometimes there is just nothing to bring! Any suggestions?

Salad with chicken or tuna and balsamic vinegar or balsamic vinagrette is low in sodium. If you get a sandwich try to avoid cheese and just load up on lean protein and veggies. Eating out on a low-so diet is very hard...Just try to avoid processed food as much as possible. Good luck!

Vinegar is very low in sodium, so balsamic or red wine vinegar are good options! Chicken breast is also very low in sodium, and tuna if it has not been mixed with mayo isn't bad either. HTH!

I would try to stay away from items that are more processed and try to eat more"whole" foods. Also, soups tend to have a lot of sodium.

I try to stay away from the processed food that sometimes I feel like I am running out of ideas! I tend to bring a salad with grilled chicken and homemade Italian dresing. Also Soups are also loaded with sodium unless you make them yourself! More whole grains and protein is best! If you have tuna just watch your mercury!
