Looking for OB/GYN that has an RE in office & more questions
Are there any OB/GYN's in Suffolk that deliver at Stonybrook that also have an RE in office? I need an OB/GYN and will likely need an RE so I was hoping for a one stop shop lol. Looking for a female OB/GYN.
If not, any recommendations for a female OB/GYN that deliver at Stonybrook as well as a female RE?
Also, does the OB/GYN refer you to the RE or can you just make an appt. with an RE? I'm assuming that I need the referral especially b/c of my insurance but just figured I'd ask.
Thanks!
I'm in Ronkonkoma so any of the surrounding areas as long as they deliver at Stonybrook.

not sure abut the area but most REs do not work in OB/GYN offices. at least not the ones you really want to see.
you can just make an appt with any RE, you usually dont need a referral unless your insurance requires it in general.

honestly, i dont believe there is a one stop shop like that, at least not on Long Island. it may depend on your ins, but i didnt need a referral to see an re.

Yeah I figured as much but just figured I'd check anyway. I have an HMO so I need a referral for specialists so I'm going to assume I need a referral for an RE.
So any recc's on OB/GYN's in the Ronkonkoma vicinity that deliver at SB?

Re: Looking for OB/GYN that has an RE in office & more questions
LI IVF has a Stonybrook office and I believe Dr. Droesch is out there (female). I haven't met her, but I have been happy with LI IVF overall :)
The only thing is that with a lot of the larger RE practices, depending on what procedures you have done, there is a chance that any one of the doctors could do your procedure. So I'm not sure how strongly you feel about only seeing females, but you might want to look for a smaller practice in that case or have that discussion with the RE upfront and see what she says.
Best of luck!

Thanks! I know with larger practices, sometimes you get someone different. I just would feel more comfortable, at least in the beginning, with a female.
