Cost of Drugs
My DH and I are currently deciding if we should pick up my healthcare in addition to my DH's healthcare. The only benefit from this would be that it covers the drugs much better than my DH's (my DH's plan is a high deductible, but covers IVF - so we get the negotiated rate).
So I know many of your ladies have done extensive research on the cost of drugs.
I will be on Gonal F (which I still have leftover from my old cycle).
I will need to buy: Ganirelix HCG Medrol Doxycycline PIO
Does anyone know how much each of these cost? What is the cheapest you were able to find them?
We get a $4,800 buyback if we do not take my insurance...
TIA!

Re: Cost of Drugs
I don't remember what we spent on meds, we had partial coverage.
Can you try looking on the freedom pharmacy website? I think I remember them having prices.
If you need more than one cycle, media can definitely add up to a few thousand dollars. Sorry I can't be more help!

Thanks!
We will most likely only do one more cycle. I am just trying to figure out if it is worth signing up for mine since we might get a better deal on meds. I wanted to know pretty much if all those meds are 4K or 1K. Insurance is such a PITA!

You should XP to the Parenting board. Lots of IF moms over there who might be able to answer (our meds were covered, so I don't know OOP cost).

Re: Cost of Drugs
If you don't need to buy Gonal F or Menopur, really, those are the expensive ones. Trigger shots run around $75-100. Ganirelix won't be cheap, but it won't be $5k.
And a simple antibiotic and steroid I think will be nominal.

Cost of Drugs
Thanks Ladies! I usually respond to meds pretty well - last time I went through IVF I only used 1 Gonal F pen. I have Menopur leftover as well, but I will not be using it this time.

Cost of Drugs
It depends. With my job which covers IF treatments the drugs do not come out of our IF benefits which is great. They come straight out of our prescription benefits (Medco) With my last IVF I had a copay of $250 but I had a crapload of drugs in there. Good luck
