Back again

Unfortunately I had a m/c @ 8 weeks (this is now my 3rd.. First at 10 weeks 2nd at 15 weeks). I have a d & c tomorrow.. How do you girls with multiple losses do it? It is hard not to give up a dream...

I don't even know ... over the years I had multiple losses as well. It definitely takes the 'naiveness' out of being pregnant because you learn fast that a positive HPT .. a heartbeat .. even a successful NT scan, etc... means nothing about the outcome of the pregnancy. All it means is you have a fighting chance.

Do you know the cause of your losses? My losses were all for different reasons (a 17wk loss which was a complete and total fluke, a chemical which was due to my clotting issues, triplets at 8wks due to a severe SCH, and a 7wk loss which we believe was chromosomal).

With each of my pregnancies I was under the care of doctors who specialize in multiple losses (Dr.Braverman and Dr.Tortoriello- who is the one I had my current success with). I'm also being followed extremely carefully by a high risk perinatologist, as I am currently almost 25wks pregnant.

There IS life after losses.. it just takes strength, determination, plenty of tears (maybe a few smashed plates against a brick wall) and competent doctors to get you there.

eta: I wanted to add that one thing I always told myself was after so many losses ... if I was to 'stop now' then it would make my road meaningless. It's like I went through all those losses and came out with nothing. Those losses HAVE to mean something. I MUST see the baby I was meant to have after so much devastation. I just know that when we hold my son it will all make sense.

I'm so sorry for your loss It is hard, but like you said, you can't give up that dream. For me coming on here and knowing that I'm not alone (and seeing others' success stories) helps a little. Sending hugs your way.

I have had many tests with my OB which was all negative. He sent me to Dr Palter who was wonderful and tested for a bunch of stuff...my first m/c @ 10 weeks I don't know the cause.. My 15 week one was not chromosomal so I don't know what happened( I believe imcompetent cervix). This was was early and I have bad egg quality so they thing chromasonal..

we just kept going for them,for the babies we lost

we did not want all we went through to be for nothing,so for us it made us keep going even though it was so hard

After suffering 3 losses, Gina409's post where she says "we just kept going for them, for the babies we lost" is exactly how I feel about my journey so far.

Just have to keep going.
