My attorney asked me to email it to her, and I did so. Yes, it's for a purchase. What to do, what to do...? If he tells us he can lock in that rate, would that make it legit?

It does make the rate of that day legit (but that does not mean the rate on your faith estimate - be aware of that - rates change on a daily basis). Also, fees can be different, so you may need to come up with more money at closing. Would you be willing to come up with more money at closing for a better rate if he can offer you that?

most of the bulk of closing costs are costs that you just can't avoid....like mortgage and property taxes (depending on the amoutn of the mortgage and the time of year you buy and the tax date), interest, mortgage, etc

Ahhh the catch. Another broker looked into it for me and said that rate is with a origination fee which equals 1% of the loan amount.

We decided to stick with our original girl - she just sounds more legit. Anyways, the rates went up today to 7%!
