Question for those who make their own baby food
I have been making dd's baby food for her using the baby bullet. i have the little jars that came with the baby bullet and my MIL also got me 2 ice cube trays for the baby food.
my question is, ped said at this point she should be getting one jar in the morning and one at night with cereal- she is 6 months. is one cube equivalent to one jar?

I have green sprouts silicone ice cube trays that are one ounce each (i think it said on the box that they were one ounce each). When I looked on the earth's best website, it said a jar of stage one was 2.5 ounces. My dr says 2 ounces are a serving. HTH

Question for those who make their own baby food
I also use the cubes, and according to my ped's instructions, one cube= 1oz. I give 2 cubes now 
btw, do you find that carrots come out soooooooo dry?

As for the carrots, I found it hard to get them into a smooth puree for her. They are a little lumpy. But she eats them!

Have you tried mixing them with bm or formula?

I gave up on the bullet. Food processor works so much better.

I was going to say make sure you know the measurements of your ice cube trays. Mine is much smaller than the normal one so I give DD 3 cubes.

I have a question for you ladies. I didnt make all my Ds baby food and I am making some of DD. BUt if there anything about carrots. I dont recall making them for DS, so I must have bought them. But reading online it was saying something about nitrates. Anyone have info on that.

When you puree the food add some chicken broth or vegetable broth to it...

Steam them, dont boil them.

I beleive ice cube trays are one ounce, so depending on how many ounces the jar is..
I think I used 3 or 4 cubes per feeding

I have been use BM storage bags for the baby food I make since I have a lot leftover...I put anywhere from 3-5 ounces in them and we feed DS from them until they're gone (1-2 days).

Question for those who make their own baby food
My carrot info is- organic whole bunch. Not the bag of baby carrots. I always steamed them and puréed in my food processor as is without anything except maybe a little of the steaming water. Always came out great.
