CIO help

Looking for some help from the BTDT moms....

We just finished night two of CIO and it seems like it actually went worse than the first night.
I decided to stop going in at the regular intervals because it actually upset her more.
She never cried for longer than 20 mins but woke up almost every other hour and cried.

Is this "normal"?

She is 6 months old.

i think it's normal for babies to wake up every few hours, but if they are able to self-soothe, they just fall back asleep without crying.

she'll learn to self-soothe if you keep working at it the way you have been.

ps: i see nothing wrong with you modifying the CIO method to fit your and your DD's needs. as long as it works for you guys, keep it up.

I found that at 6 months my twins were still too young for any type of sleep training. It worked great when they were 8 months

yes its normal. shes learning to self soothe. usually by night 3 you'll see an improvement. but please remember that CIO is not a one time thing. there are going to be nights when your DC will be overtired and you will need to CIO again at bedtime and nights when they wake up in the middle of the night randomly and cry. but you have to stay strong and be consistent. good luck!

My ped warned me that the second night is often worse than the first night. For me, it only took 2 nights.....DS slept through the night by the third night. He was 4 months old.

Yep normal. It gets harder before easier. He has to reach his extinction burst.
