Leapfrog computer for 2nd bday?

I know nothing about these, please give me some insight! Is there a Leapfrog computer (or something like that) that would be good for a 2nd birthday gift for DD?

I see some of them say 3 and up . . . Would that really be way too advanced for a 2 year old? I also see some that say 1-4, would that be better?

If you have one of these for your 2 year old, please recommend it! TIA!

Tag Reader We have had both the tag and the tag jr and I would get the tag over the jr even for a kid this age. I feel that you will have much more longevity with the tag. It is smaller so it is actually easier to hold for little fingers and the books are fine for young kids. Just get books with the younger age spectrum on them. If I was going to get one thing, I would get the tag and 3 books to start. It will give a good start to reading and can even give them some independence once they get the hang of it.

There is also the leappad (1 and 2) and I would wait to get it until age 2 1/2 at the earliest but really age 3 is when I would get this toy. We have had it since DD was 2 and DS was 4, DD was a little young, now at 3 and 5 they are the perfect age for it. Once we got them leappads they basically ignored the leaptop.

Scout or Violet DD has Violet and it is adorable. She received it when she was 1 1/2 and still loves it at 3.

The letter factory and the phonics factory are also great products but you need a magnetic surface fridge for them to work well. HTH
