Almost 4 and the wining starts!!

I thought its supposed to get better! Oye!

He's getting fresh and tougher to put to bed. It's almost a fight for anything. Getting dressed, bath, bed, going to school, shoes, etc.

This is all I hear all day... No! No! No! Mommy!!

He was better at 3. He's going to be 4 in two months. It seems like since he got totally potty trained and he gave up his paci for night the attitude, wining and crying started.
This was a little over a month ago.

I know I'll get the advise not to give in, etc. Believe me I do. He doesn't get what he wants and gets time out for being fresh. I give him choices, etc.

Just want to know what suddenly changed. Ugh! He was sweet, good and listened. Well, more than he does now.


Eta... I know it's a great sign of independence, but he has to do everything himself. That's great except for when you have to be somewhere. I know we can all relate.
Oh, and demanding.

He's the boss and talking back.

Oh I hear you! My DD is very similar and she just turned 4 a few weeks ago. I think it's all about continuing to be consistent and roll with the punches. Don't let them see it upset you, stay calm and in a monotone voice explain the consequence. I use timers a lot for everything (bed, bath, dinner, getting dressed) lol Good luck.

Ds just turned 1 and threw a tantrum whining not wanting to eat avocados this morning. I'd say you're so lucky making it to 4 with your DC! So jealous!

4 is a very difficult age. Its that weird transition from toddler to an actual pre-schooler. I have to say it got a little better once DS turned 5 and started Kindergarten. Good luck! I need it too bc I just had another boy

4 was hard and my only advice is to ignore and make pretend you do not understand him when he whines. As far as the talking back, it gets worse! I don't know how to discipline it. I try and ignore that too or I give him warnings and then things get taken a way.
